Improve Your Health Through Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

One of the most frustrating factors found in the current medical community is a lack of personal interest between patient and physician. A person gets ill so they visit a physician only to be swiftly diagnosed and provided a random medication that has been subscribed randomly to thousands before. This generic approach to meeting medical needs has left many individuals wanting greater attention as well as improved remedies specifically designed for them. While most medical facilities will not supply you with this need for personalized solutions, one option can be found with the solutions of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Hormones provide many different roles within the human body so it is vital that every person maintains a balance which is specific to them. Through the use of hormones individuals benefit from growth, mental stability, improved health, and a sense of balance in their life. When your hormones are out of balance a person's growth can be stunted, mental stability is shattered, health begins to deplete and you have a general sense of worry. Through the solutions of hormone replacement a person can begin finding new balance in their life. However, avoid the generic solutions of hormone replacement and seek the one of a kind opportunities created from bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

When seeking to take advantage of this possibility, the first step is to take the time to visit your doctor and address your specific concerns. If you are experiencing symptoms which are uncharacteristic of you then seek their medical opinion in order to determine if these symptoms may be a result of a hormone imbalance. These individuals will run a variety of tests which will display not only that an imbalance may exist but also the specific hormones your body may require. This creates an opportunity for the development of a bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

Keep in mind when looking to replace hormones which may be out of balance, a doctor's first instinct will be to turn to generically created hormones produced by pharmaceutical companies. This instinct is not a result of offering you the best medical advice but from years of established patterns encouraged by the large and powerful companies. Rather than utilizing a generic hormone solution which may or may not impact your current symptoms, seek the customizable solutions offered to any individual through the resources of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. To take full advantage of the opportunities which exist with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy the first step is to find a compounding pharmacy.

Hormones: Can They Help?

In menopause, a woman's ovaries stop producing the "female" hormones estrogen and progesterone. Levels of the "male" hormone testosterone fall more gradually, so that a woman in her 40s has only about half the testosterone she had in her 20s. These hormonal shifts can add up to a loss of sexual desire, or vaginal dryness that makes sexual intercourse an ordeal. Some women get relief from hormone creams, pills, or other preparations, including the following:

Bioidentical hormones

What they are: Plant-derived hormones with the same molecular structure as the hormones secreted by the body.

What they do: Ease vaginal dryness and boost libido (and relieve other menopausal symptoms).

Prescription required? Yes.

Risks: Long-term use of bioidentical hormones has not been well researched.

Estrogen

What they are: Vaginal creams (Estrace Cream, Premarin Cream), vaginal rings (Estring, Femring), and vaginal tablets (Vagifem) containing estrogen.

What they do: Makes sex more comfortable by building estrogen levels in the vagina to thicken vaginal tissue and increase natural moisture.
Prescription required? Yes

Risks: Estrogen may affect breast and uterine health. However, with these preparations, little estrogen should be absorbed into the bloodstream, especially as treatment progresses and vaginal tissue thickens.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)

What they are: In women who haven't had a hysterectomy, estrogen plus progestin in pill form. In women who have had a hysterectomy, estrogen alone in pill form.

What they do: Relieve hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms, including vaginal dryness.

Prescription required? Yes

Risks: The Women's Health Initiative, a large study funded by the U.S. government, found that long-term use of HRT increased the risk for stroke and other serious illnesses. For complete study results, go to: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/whi/. Most doctors recommend that women who use HRT take the lowest dose for the shortest period of time.

Testosterone

What they are: Creams and gels compounded by a pharmacist; the FDA recently determined that an experimental patch (Intrinsa) made by Procter & Gamble needed further study.

What they do: Increase sexual desire. Prescription required? Yes Risks: Can cause a woman's voice to deepen and facial hair to grow.

BOTTOM LINE: If you're considering using hormones, talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks for someone with your health profile.

Are Bioidentical Hormones For Men?

Bioidentical hormones are a fairly new topic in the world of medicine. However, there have been rave reviews from those who have taken them and had incredibly positive results. Now, many people are asking "are bioidentical hormones for men?" The information below will help you understand why this unique therapy can be used for males as well as females.

What Are Bioidentical Hormones?

Also known as natural hormone replacement, the process of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy deals with the replacing the absent hormones in the body with created ones gained from natural plant substances. They plants used are yams and soy, and the substances are manipulated until they mimic the make-up of the hormones found naturally in the body.

The hormones are given in specific doses based upon the needs of each individual, and are used to cure hormone related diseases, conditions, and symptoms. This is far more effective than a one size fits all treatment, or a prescription medication treatment which might have dozens of painful side effects.

Are There Bioidentical Hormones for Men?

Although these types of created hormones and this specialized therapy are generally used for women during their menopausal years, there are bioidentical hormones for men. The fact is that men just are not in need of them nearly as often, as hormone imbalances are less common in males.

While women need a mix of hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and some testosterone, men need a mixture of total testosterone, estradiol, DHEAS, and Prolactin. The materials gathered from soy and yams can just as easily be made into these hormones than the one for females, and can help restore hormonal balance in men.

Just because bioidentical hormones for men are not well known, they do exist. Just like women, there are periods in some men's life in which their hormones will become imbalanced and create medical problems or symptoms. With the use of these created hormones, there is not help for men as well as women.

Natural Hormone Balance - Help With Troublesome Menopause Symptoms

It is possible to manage problematic symptoms of perimenopause and menopause that occur with or without hormone replacement therapy (hrt). The first step should be to order a blood test to check your hormone levels and other indicators of health. I am not a doctor, but I have been fortunate enough to have the care and advice of a doctor who is an expert in female hormones, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet. I had endured the frustration and grief of uninformed medical care long enough to be ecstatically grateful for the power of her knowledge.

The good doctor was visiting my hometown of Anchorage, Alaska and she gave a lecture to a stunned audience of women (including me) who learned that they knew next to nothing about the hormones that have all but ruled their adult lives. Encouraged by the enlightenment we asked, "Who in town can we see to get help with our raging hormones? Now that we know that our stubbornly overweight, fatigued bodies, and lagging sex drives have the hope of hormonal balance and much needed relief from what ails us, how do we proceed in our common quest to feel good again?"

Alas, the best answer turned out to be an hour-long phone consultation with Dr. Vliet--Anchorage to Tucson. Dr. Vliet had warned us in her lecture that our doctors would probably not know how or why to order appropriate bloodwork to measure our hormone levels, and they wouldn't know what to do with the results once they got them. This is exactly the woeful ignorance I encountered when I tried to implement her long distance course of diagnosis and treatment. Just as she predicted, I was offered antidepressants, the same old worn out diet ideas, and marriage counseling for my low libido. (It's not his fault.)

Armed with Dr. Vliet's recommendations, I stood my ground until my doctor agreed to let me have the appropriate labwork done. On my next visit, with lab results in hand, my doctor admitted that she did not know how to proceed from there but would be happy to follow through with whatever course of treatment Dr. Vliet suggested.

After sending Dr. Vliet my lab results and pages of health history I had the phone consultation. Her expertise is such that she quickly knew that all was not well. She recommended a pelvic ultrasound that revealed multiple conditions indicating an imminent need for a total hysterectomy. My annual pelvic exam had turned up nothing. The symptoms I had sought help with over the previous few years had not been relieved, and had only worsened because the attempts made by my doctors and other caregivers were essentially shots in the dark. They didn't even know how to be informed about my true hormonal condition.

Post-operative use of an estradiol patch and testosterone got me through my instant menopause. Labwork several months later showed significant improvement in my hormone levels. Thanks to the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, my outta wack pre-operative levels were significantly improved and I have left behind my plague of perimenopausal symptoms.

Now let's be clear: menopause is not a disease; it is a natural state. Some women sail through the change of life. Hormonal imbalance is another story. That's what I am talking about. Now that my pathologies have been addressed, the goal is to achieve natural hormone balance through a healthy, active lifestyle.

To achieve optimal hormone balance it makes sense to work with your body's amazingly complex and responsive hormonal network. Rest, moderate exercise, a self-respecting diet, and doing things that bring joy--this is what we need to feel good. Informed, natural supplementation can also be helpful to our overtaxed bodies.

My hope is that by sharing my story I can help others get help. For a wealth of information visit Dr. Vliet's website at http://www.herplace.com/

Get informed and don't let anyone tell you that drugs are the only answer. They are sometimes appropriate but there are lots of other alternatives that may yield sounder, longer lasting results.

Every Woman's Guide to Menopause and the Importance of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Menopause means "the pause in menstruation" and relates to the time a woman had her last menstrual period. Generally, women experience this between the ages of 45 and 55, but sometimes (though rare), as early as 30 years. This accompanies body changes like hot flushes, tiredness, depression, and an irregular cycle may occur years before the onset of menopause.

The three hormones produced by ovaries are progesterone, testosterone and estrogen. These hormones are not produced by the body after menopause. Although, estrogen may still be produced by fat tissue, that's why fat women do not experience estrogen deficiency symptoms after menopause. The body needs estrogen to stay healthy and long-term estrogen deficiency problems such as angina and stroke,Dowager's hump, hip fracture, genital degeneration, hip fracture, and osteoporosis, are becoming common as these women approach this stage. These health problems diminish quality of life among these women. The good news is, it is preventable.

WHAT ARE THE COMMON SYMPTOMS OF MENOPAUSE?

According to experts, there are 5 groups of estrogen deficiency symptoms that a woman may experience during this stage:

  • Hot flushes, night sweats, headaches, palpitations, excessive tiredness, crawling sensations under the skin, and sleeplessness - are caused by instability in the normal working of the blood vessels.

  • Mood changes, depression, loss of memory, feeling unloved, and anxiety- are psychological symptoms.

  • Dryness of vaginal tissues and affected bladder- which leads to desire to urinate more often and make intercourse uncomfortable.

  • Loss of interest in sexual intercourse- this is due to dryness of vaginal tissues and affected bladder that loses the urge in women in sex.

  • Prone to fractures, back aches, muscle pains and osteoporosis- due to loss of strength of body's supporting tissues and thinning of the bones.

IN WHAT OTHER WAYS CAN ESTROGEN DEFICIENCY AFFECTS WOMEN?

Heart diseases and strokes increase among women after menopause. Before the occurrence, women were protected by their estrogen. Studies shows that administration of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) after menopause, reduces the risks. HRT is said to be important for women who have risk factors for heart disease, those with high cholesterol levels, obesity, and who have high blood pressure. It is said to be administered more importantly to women who experienced menopause at a very early age.

WHAT IS HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (HRT)?

This means replacing the hormones that have been previously been produced by the ovaries. HRT reduces the incidence of heart diseases and strokes. Although, it s still under study on this subject, it is believed that short-term memory will be improved and Alzheimer's type called dementia will be reduced.

Genitourinary problems in old age will be reduced. It prevents bone loss and osteoporosis. This means that the quality of life will be maintained while 40% of quality life will be reduced and will continue to persists for ten years or a lifetime after menopause to women without HRT.

WHAT ARE THE FACTS AND FALLACIES OF HRT?

  • HRT won't cause weight gain. Some women might experience initial side effects such as a bloated feeling, breast tenderness and fullness but theses are just reactions tend to settle down within the first few months of therapy and no need to worry about.

  • HRT does not suppress ovulation and, therefore family planning methods should be implemented to avoid unwanted pregnancies during this stage.

  • Women with history of liver disease, clotting problems, or estrogen dependent cancers should take a different type of therapy.

  • HRT must be taken 5-10 years for estrogen deficiency symptoms, 10-20 years if for osteoporosis prevention and lifetime treatment should be done for the prevention of heart disease and stroke.

  • Calcium supplements must be taken daily together with HRT. Calcium will not be absorbed by the body if there's no presence of estrogen in the body.

Around the age of 45-50 or anytime you feel you could be experiencing estrogen deficient symptoms, consult your doctor right away and ask about HRT and if it will suit your health needs. Remember: Don't take any medication without consulting your doctor first.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER THINGS WOMEN SHOULD DO BEFORE AND AFTER MENOPAUSE?

  • Have a very active life and exercise daily. Eat a well balanced diet --- avoid fatty foods, liquor, cigarettes, and harmful drugs. It's a general knowledge that to have a healthy life, we should always find time to exercise, to get enough sleep, and to eat low-fat, low-cholesterol, fibrous diet. We always know this. But, not all people who knows practices what they know. So, if you're one of them, you should do this healthy lifestyle principle this time.

  • always take multi-vitamins along with your breakfast to start your day. Make sure that vitamins have the essential ingredients for it to be useful to your daily body needs. Read this link for more information about multi-vitamins:

  • take time to have fun once in a while. Smile and even if you're out of tune, hum and sing a lot. Take everything in life as an experience. Don't dwell on the stresses it will give you but focus on how to solve problems in life with a positive outlook and a smile even if the going gets tough.

Every woman will experience menopause. No woman is exempted. Therefore, we should take care of ourselves so that we will grow old gracefully without the unwanted symptoms menopause could bring. We have a choice. It's up to us what choice to take.

What Ladies Can Do to Deal With Menopause Properly

Contrary to what many people think, men are also affected when their female companions-single or married but sexually active-undergo the menopausal stage. Menopause can negatively affect relationships and even considerably modify the dynamics of lovemaking because of the psychological and physiological shifts it brings about. It might even spark a breakdown in relationships or the termination of any kind of physical intimacy.

When a natural bodily function ceases, it may be a traumatic experience if not handled properly. The women can be prone to regular mood shifts at the beginning of, throughout, and even after menopause. This could make family life challenging not only for the woman, but also for other family members. As other family members might not fully understand the matter, the emotional pressure may cause many disputes.

A woman goes through menopause when her ovaries cease producing eggs, rendering her unable to have children. It also puts an end to a woman's reproductive years, causing a sudden change in her hormonal levels. The end of a woman's menstrual period normally happens between the ages of 47 and 53, but can also come earlier or later based on several factors, which are sometimes genetic.

There's a widespread misconception that the younger generation might be more active in sex than their more mature counterparts due to the "newness" of the experience. However, research in several countries has shown the opposite-men can be more active in sex as they get older, while middle-aged women have improved sex lives. The latter seems to bedue to women's doubts concerning the outcomes of menopause.

Middle-aged women may try to maximize their time before the beginning of menopause and take part in more intimate activities. Although menopause can reduce a woman's intimate desires, she can still look for help to mitigate its consequences through bio identical hormone replacement therapy. This treatment can help women who have undergone menopause and give comfort to their lovemaking anxieties.

Sex can be quite excruciating for women that are in menopause. Nonetheless, despite their decreased sex drive, some women refuse to give up to please their partners. A bioidentical hormone replacement procedure can help the woman and her spouse meet their sexual requirements. It can also alleviate the vaginal symptoms of menopause such as burning, dryness, itching, and some other kinds of discomfort.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy can mitigate hot flashes, mood swings, headaches, anxiety attacks and other negative effects of menopause. It may also provide some defense against heart disease, colorectal cancer, and osteoporosis. Menopause may be inescapable for women, but it should not put a stop to intimacy with their spouses. Should I Take Hormone Replacement Therapy If I Have Bipolar Disorder?

My advice is, proceed with caution and ask the team who are looking after you.

To get the treatment right for bipolar disorder and find a regime which suits you, may have taken many years. You do not want to upset this delicate balance.

Equally, the symptoms of the menopause can be severe and there is some evidence that the change in hormone levels may make your bipolar disorder worse and you may experience a worsening especially of depression symptoms.

How oestrogen affects you mood is not completely understood, although it does appear that oestrogen tends to make people feel 'brighter'. On the other hand, life events such as children leaving home, divorce, change in social circumstances may be the contributor to your low mood rather than hormone changes.

HRT (hormonal replacement therapy) is synthetic oestrogen +/- synthetic progesterone. Each of these hormones or combinations may have different psychological effects in different people and even the route - whether transdermal (patches and body cream/gel) or tablets have different influences on mood.

Topical oestrogen (cream, gels) can be applied to directly to the vagina, which can help local symptoms of vaginal dryness and urinary problems and it is not absorbed well therefore should not upset your psychological state.

Herbal remedies are often suggested - phytoestrogens (plant-based oestrogen-like compounds) are found in soya, however the effects of either soya supplements or high intakes of soya foods are not available on bipolar disorder. The same goes for red clover and the other herbal remedies, so once again I would suggest you speak to your doctor.

There is very little controlled research on the use of HRT in patients with bipolar disorder, therefore I think it will be hard to predict how your bodies will react to HRT so you need to think carefully.

If you are really well on your medications and your symptoms of hot flushes etc are not that bad, then why upset a good thing! However, if you are experiencing menopausal symptoms or even a worsening in your psychological state, it may be worth a supervised trial.

Why You May Be at Risk of Dying Prematurely and How to Prolong Your Life Naturally

One small change in your health condition can be the first sign of a major health problem. But usually we tend to ignore them until it is too late. You have a wonderful family and good job. But suddenly you notice that you cannot control your temper any more, and you shout at your kids without a good reason and you start forgetting important things at work and making costly mistakes.

You have been passionate with your spouse for many years, but now you do not feel anything anymore. Intimacy is now a chore, not pleasure. And then you start having chest pain when walking. You go to your doctor and get tests done just to learn that you now have a heart disease. Then what is next? How long do you think you will live?

According to the Bible, the first man, Adam lived 930 years. Impossible, of course, for us. But the longest living person on the earth, Jeanne Calment, lived 122 years and 164 days. At least 10 people lived more than 116 years. This means that it is possible to live more than 100 years and to be active. But how? The average life span is about 80 years and does not mean an active life. So what is the secret to live more than 100 years? What is the secret to not die prematurely?

Unfortunately official medicine denies the existence of the fountain of youth. So it was not possible to find it in the medical textbooks or articles. Therefore I decided to do my own investigation to find the answers to only 2 questions:

1. Why we may be at risk of dying prematurely.
2. How to prolong our lives naturally.

I decided to find the proven respectful studies to get the answers. But it was not that easy.

Normally they do medical scientific studies on a huge number of people, who do not know certain information, which can lead to bias in reporting results. The money for these studies is coming from big pharmaceutical companies to prove the efficiency of their new drugs. They want to sell. But there are two problems with these so called scientific studies.

First - is the existence of bias. If you are interested in getting your drug sold, which report are you going to publish: favorable or negative?

Second problem is that "Big Pharma" is about selling drugs. Do you think they are interested in making you healthier and/or prolonging your life naturally? Do you think they are going to give money for this?

Longevity secrets - from real people

First thing I realized was: it can be done. Jeanne Calment, who lived 122 years and 164 days, was pretty active until the every end of her life and was not suffering from any significant chronic conditions. She even smoked until age 117. But how could she stay and achieve health until the very end? In medical school I learned that people die because they are sick. Therefore healthy people do not die. Sounds like an axiom. Turned out I was wrong.

First breakthrough was the Kitava study in 1989.

Can people die healthy?

It started with Staffan Lindeberg, MD from the Department of Medicine, University of Lund, Sweden. He decided to study the population of the Island of Kitava in Papua, New Guinea, which is about 24,000. To his surprise even old people over there did not have heart disease, diabetes, strokes, high blood pressure, cancer and any other health condition we hear about every day. Juptner in 1960 has got the same results. So I thought: this is it! Now i know where to look for my answers. Healthy people do not die! But there was a big problem with Kitava study: the average life span was about 45 years! It means: they were dying healthy! So being healthy does not mean that we live longer!

Same thing with a famous Danish Eskimo study.

Tho Danish scientists Bang and Dyerberg discovered, that Eskimos have almost no heart attacks, our number 1 killer in the world, despite the fact that their cholesterol is not low. But do they live linger? Not that I know of.

Second breakthrough was Blue Zones, areas of the world where people live longer.

Because official medicine does not give the prescription for longevity Dan Buettner from National Geographic went to Japan to learn more about Okinawa longevity secrets. But according to demographer S. Jay Olshansky of University of the Illinois in Chicago, as well as 51 longevity experts in their position statement in 2002 that "There are no lifestyle changes, surgical procedures, vitamins, antioxidants, hormones, or techniques of genetic engineering available today with the capacity to repeat the gains in life expectancy that were achieved during the 20th century."

Really?

Fortunately to the humankind they did not know that there are a few areas on earth where people simply live longer -- Blue Zones.

What they did to find longevity secrets: they went to Blue Zones

To get the truth about longevity secrets journalist Dan Buettner and other members if his expedition identified the Blue Zones: Sardinia, Italy: Okinawa, Japan; Loma Linda, California, US: Costa Rica. They decided to learn from real people, not from theory, how to live longer. But what did they find?

None of them relied on the modern western medicine. Period. But does it mean that it is bad? Not really. Because with the help of the modern western medicine we are going to discover the secrets of longevity later on.

Also you do not have to go to deserted island to live better - Loma Linda, California is only 60 miles from toxic Los Angeles. But this made the mystery even more complicated: if it is not the place, it is not the specific fad diet, it is not the air, so what is it? That is why the Blue Zone expedition learned and documented what differs Blue Zones from the rest of the world.

Is it really water from the Fountain of Youth?

When a Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon came to Florida in 1513 BC, he was looking for the Fountain of Youth. He did not learn medicine and he did not know anything about genes and vitamins. But he knew: it has to be water. And he was right: they drink plenty of water in Blue Zones, but not too much, especially in Nicoya, Costa Rica. They say that it is because of the high content of calcium in it. But there is plenty of calcium in green vegetables, especially organic. Or calcium OTC pills. But do they prolong life? Not that I know of. Do we have to drink enough water to live longer? Absolutely!

Water is necessary for detoxification: it helps you to get rid of your toxic waste. The question is: is it water itself, or it is something in the water we do not know about?

1550 BC, Venice, Italy there was no modern technology, no Internet and no microscope. But the first Anti Aging manual is written by Luigi Cornaro --"The Sure and Certain Method of Attaining a Long and Healthful Life". Without tools and information he figured out that moderation is the key. He did what he preached and he lived about 90 years and maybe even more. It took scientists more that 500 years to discover that Luigi Cornaro was right. They took two groups of mice. One of them was fed as much as they wanted to. Another group was given food just to keep mice alive. Guess what group lived longer? The mice that were given just enough food to survive. But mice are not people. So they did the same with monkeys and they results, suggestive, that calorie restriction is beneficial for monkeys. But did it do the same to people?

In the Blue Zones they do.

How Much Should You Eat?

Calorie restriction is the main feature of the all Blue Zones lifestyles. But there is a big problem with calorie restriction alone: if you do not have enough calories, how can you combat infection or trauma or other stress situations? In Kitava Island they do not have plenty of food and they die on average at age of 45. So the longevity secret is not only less food to eat. But what else?

If you ask a dermatologist about the sun exposure, he will tell you how dangerous it is. So they did not know how dangerous sun exposure is. And they spent a lot of time in the sun. Do not think they were sunbathing! They did not have time for it. They had sun exposure naturally, as a part of their busy life. Have you ever seen a monkey on the beach?

Not really. Because monkeys know how to do it right. As a child I learned that the sun is good for me. My mom told me that if I did not get sun exposure I would get a bone condition called rickets, because the sun is good for the bones. What I did not know was: sun makes our immune system stronger to better protects us from infection and cancer.

Not all times of the day are good for sun exposure, though. The best hours are before 10 AM and after 5 PM, because at those times you get more UVA and less UVB, which is harmful. But if you have to be in the sun from 10 AM to 5 PM use clothing, umbrellas and hats to protect yourself from UVB, because sunscreens are not that reliable.

It's In What You Eat

What about living longer? They have plenty of sun in Africa, Kitava or Florida. But they do not live that long.

Could the secret be the magic food they eat? Maybe. They tend to eat more tomatoes and nuts. And this is understandable. Nuts are good for your health, because they are good for your heart: They have plenty of omega 3 fatty acids. Like fish, that is the staple of Eskimo diet. They do not have heart attacks. But Eskimo do not live long, either.

Tomatoes are different from nuts. They are the part of a rainbow diet. Think about it: if fruits or vegetables are of bright color, they are actually inviting you to eat them, and they are good for you. And tomatoes are known to be beneficial for your health: they protect from prostate cancer, head and neck cancer, breast cancer and neurodegenerative diseases as well as harmful ultraviolet radiation. Sounds like they are better than modern western medicine that cannot protect you from any cancer. It can only detect it early.

But what is the secret of tomatoes? If you go online, they will tell you, that it is antioxidant lycopene as well as vitamins A and C, that do the miracle. What they usually do not tell you is that lycopene from tomato is going to your adrenals, testes and liver. Does it have anything to do with longevity?

Or maybe those people in Blue Zones live longer because they know some special ritual, like a dance or meditation? Not likely. They move naturally by doing their chores and getting food. That is why they do not have time to go to the gym. They actually do not have them. But do they need to? I doubt it. They work hard enough. And when was the last time you saw a monkey at the gym.

Instead they have a healthy social life. They have big supportive families. They live together with their children. They support each other emotionally. And it works!

Should You Drink Red Wine?

Also they do not forget to drink red wine. Especially in Sardinia. And France. The last is known for so called French paradox. They eat plenty of saturated fat, but do not suffer that much from heart disease. So scientists looked into it. And they found the substance from red wine, called Resveratrol. High doses of it supposedly is mimicking calorie restriction effect in mice, resulting in longer life. And it can be sold as a pill. But there is a problem with Resveratrol: red wine has such a small amount of it that it cannot explain low incidence of heart disease in France.

Nevertheless because of the publicity the consumption of red wine increased. Wine and Resveratrol manufacturers were happy.

Or maybe there is another explanation of the French paradox?

As per OECD French work much less hours a week than Americans. Only in Norway, Sweden and Netherlands do they work less than in France. That short weekly working hours make sense: human beings are hunters -- gatherers. They did not work that much.

Looks like they enjoyed much more pleasures in their life than we do.

What is means is: French do not have that much stress and human beings are not designed to have that much stress, plus red wine helps you to relax.

Conclusion: less hormone cortisol, which sometimes can kill. Wait a second! May be it is all about hormones? Remember about lycopene from tomatoes? It goes to adrenals, testes and liver to protect your hormone production and proper their disposal by the liver

I'm listening breathless to what she is saying. Suddenly it strikes my mind: "It is not cholesterol, not cancer, not your high blood pressure that are killing you. It is your hormones," -- she is saying. How could it be? That is not what I was taught in the medical school ad residency program. This is not on the Internal Medicine Board Exam.

But she is not a doctor, she is not a scientist. She is an actress! So what! I still remember the story from the past, when a lot of children were coming to the local hospital with all their hair falling out. All the doctors could not figure it out why. But the nursing aide knew: it was radiation. And she was right: children were exposed to radioactive waste.

Think about it: when you are young, you do not have cancer, heart attack, high blood pressure or cholesterol. Problems start developing when your hormones are low: menopause or andropause, when you cannot make babies anymore. This is because mother nature wants you to leave the space for younger individuals, who can make babies!

And so your hormones go down, making your body weak and unprotected. But it this is correct, how do they trick their bodies in Blue Zones? How did Jeanne Calment do it for 122 years? Was it possible that she was able to maintain a somehow relatively high level of women's sex hormone estrogen? We do not know. But the fact, that she was riding a bicycle at age 100 and she fractured her leg at age 114 means shows that she managed to do so. But how?

As soon as a woman runs out of eggs, her estrogen should go down! Another example: a man -- centenarian from Nicoya. His name is Rafael Angel Leon Leon. He had a lot of girlfriends and finally got married to a woman 40 year younger than him at age 92. It means that at age 92 he still was sexually active and could attract a much younger woman. But it is not possible without having enough sex hormone testosterone. So somehow he managed to keep his hormones up! But how?

When Jeanne Calment was asked how she could maintain her health and youthful appearance, she was always attributing it to olive oil, port wine and chocolate. Could it be olive oil? I knew that olive oil is good for your heart and vessels. What I did not know was, that it contains iodine.

We all know that iodine as well as selenium is necessary for thyroid hormone production. But what about estrogen?

For many years doctors were puzzled because breast diseases often go with thyroid problems. Iodine deficiency, that causes goiter and thyroid cysts, can cause breast cysts as well. Also low iodine was linked to breast cancer. They found that low iodine results in high estrogen level, leading to breast cancer. This does not match with the theory, that olive oil, high in iodine, can increase estrogen level to balance hormones of post menopausal women. So it is not iodine?

Then I got lucky. I knew that they use iodine -- 125 to label certain molecules. What I did not know was: it was estrogen that was marked with iodine. What it means? Iodine is easily incorporated into estrogen molecule. Does it mean that iodine activates estrogen? So far iodine -- estrogen connection remains mystery.

It could be not only iodine that prolongs life. It could be other micro-elements that make hormones and enzymes active. But why do we need them in extra amounts? Don't we get them enough with food? Not at all, because of soil depletion. In fact even if we eat fruits and vegetables, we get 5 to 7 times less micro-elements and other nutrients than we are supposed to. But could people get them in Blue Zones? Could it be from their secret fountains of youth? Or may be from the middle of the earth? From volcanoes for example?

To prove my theory, I started looking for any volcanoes, active or inactive around Blue Zones. Except Loma Linda all of them have volcanoes around. Even if Loma Linda does not it still is the place of frequent earthquakes that can result in increased levels of micronutrients and hence much better body functioning. But is it true? We need more studies about Blue Zones. But none of them are in the near future. The Blue Zones longevity secret still remains the mystery.

Are you at risk of dying prematurely?

If you see a snake approaching you can run away or you can kill it. But what if you are asleep? Then you are dead. Who should you blame? The snake or yourself, because you did not make your home safe?

Same thing is with your health. Do you want to create the safe and health space around you? It is not a rocket science to do this. It is like having car. If you follow your car manual and do maintenance regularly, you will enjoy smooth ride for many years. If not -- you will become the regular customer of repair shops. Follow your body manual: do whatever human being are created for.

Unfortunately it is not that easy. Normally we decide what to eat based on two principles:

1. Food has to be tasty.
2. It is supposed to deliver maximum energy in the shortest possible period of time.

But these principles do not work for us because:

1. Our food taste is so modified from the original, therefore we cannot rely on it. I'm talking about processed food, modified fruits and vegetables, corn but not grass fed cattle, etc.

2. Energy content is much higher because of additives like various carbohydrates, oils etc.

Now you are on your own to pick up your food. You cannot rely on your natural mechanisms. You have to rely on your knowledge to make sure, that you live long enough.

So how can you check if you are at risk of dying prematurely? Check if you are truly following your body's manual:

Are you eating the same food as cave men did?

Are you drinking about the same amount of water cave men did?

Are you getting enough sun exposure to synthesize enough vitamin D to protect yourself from fractures because of weak bones, heart disease, arthritis, autoimmune disease and cancer?

Are you moving naturally?

Are you are a part of your family and community?

Are your food, water and air clean?

Are you exposed to any other toxins like dyes, plastics, fumes, drugs etc.?

Do you go to bed with sundown and get up with sunrise?

This is the basic checklist that might help you to identify if you are following the manual or not, are you at risk of dying.

How to live longer -- Blue Zones checklist:

  • Get enough sunlight, but not too much to get plenty of vitamin D. Monkey on the beach sunbathing?

  • Restrict your calorie intake, but still get enough calories to fight infection or stress.

  • Eat plenty of tomatoes.

  • Move naturally. Remember monkey in the gym?

  • Eat handful of nuts regularly.

  • Drink enough water.

  • Be social.

  • Get enough sleep (at least 8 hours a day).

  • Follow Paleolithic diet -- avoid processed food!

  • Balance your hormones!

The bottom line is that you need to make one change to get on the path to being healthy. Every commitment you ever made began with one step at a time. Commit to making a change and see where it can lead you. No one that was famous for leading ever just jumped in and led. You have to work to get what you want and you will notice that things can fall, and will fall into place.

You have to be brave and be ready to make a change.

Living a "blue zone" life style isn't that hard. You came across many good ideas to take with you in your new goals. Also you should learn how to improve your health and mind, by learning more about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and neurotransmitter balancing. All these components, which we work with in our offices, can be key to giving you the life you always wanted.

You can:

  • have better intimacy

  • improve your mood

  • improve your relationships

  • get rid of menopause and andropause symptoms

  • get better working productivity

  • live longer

  • look younger

Isn't this worth a commitment?

Relief From Menopause Symptoms - 3 Steps

During pre-menopause and menopause, women go through an array of symptoms that are sometimes debilitating. In this article I will review 3 steps that you can take to get some relief from menopause.

You have to remember that during menopause, your body is going through some hormonal changes. Two hormones are particularly affected. Progesterone and estrogen. With the decline of estrogen your menstrual periods come to a halt.

There is a subtle balance between estrogen and progesterone as they work together. Because progesterone declines to zero during menopause, women tend to become estrogen dominant because although estrogen declines also, many women continue to produce some estrogen. A lot of the menopause symptoms are due to this estrogen dominance.

Here are 3 steps for relief from menopause symptoms.

1. Change your diet

Focus on eating more fruits and vegetables, lean meat and plenty of fish so you get enough of the healthy fats that are so important for the production of hormones.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they worsen night sweats and hot flashes.

You should eat more soy derived products. Drink at least 2 cups of soy milk per day. It has been found to help with hot flashes.

Stay well hydrated by drinking at least eight 8-ounces glasses of water a day. They will help you also with the hot flashes.

Supplement with 1,000 to 1,500 mg daily of calcium and vitamin D. That will slower the bone loss that is associated with menopause.

Take Black Cohosh supplements, it has shown in studies to relieve menopause symptoms.

2. Opt to be as stress free as possible

Stress has been shown to block the estrogen receptors and worsen menopause symptoms. For relief from menopause, add meditation and deep breathing to your daily routine. Taking up yoga may also be a good idea.

3. Consider bioidential hormone replacement therapy

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been used for a long time for relief from menopause symptoms. However, studies have shown an increased risk of breast cancer and stroke when women used the regular synthetic hormones. That's why women have been attracted to the more natural bioidentical hormones. They are identical to the hormones produced by the body and practically do not have any side effects. They are controversial however by many in the medical community because they are not patented by the pharmaceutical industry. If your menopause symptoms are severe and if you have tried the natural remedies with no success, it may be time to get relief from menopause symptoms with bioidentical hormones.

Menopause Symptoms and Long Term Effects

Menopause is a natural event in a woman's life occurring between the ages of 45 and 55 when her ovaries cease to produce eggs, hormone levels (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone among others) decline, and menstruation has not occurred for the length of one full year.

Symptoms of menopause include:

o Hot flashes and skin flushing

o Night sweats

o Insomnia

o Mood swings including irritability, depression, and anxiety

o Cessation of menstrual periods for the period of one year

o Spotting of blood in between periods

o Vaginal dryness and painful sexual intercourse

o Decreased sex drive

o Vaginal infections

The long-term effects of menopause include:

o Bone loss and eventual osteoporosis

o Changes in cholesterol levels and greater risk of heart disease

TESTS

Blood and urine tests can be used to measure hormone levels that may indicate when a woman is close to menopause or has already gone through menopause. Examples of these tests include:

o Estradiol

o FSH

o LH

A pelvic exam can also determine whether there are changes in the vaginal lining caused by changes in estrogen levels. A bone density test may be used to measure low bone density levels which would indicate osteoporosis.

For many years, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) was the main treatment for menopause symptoms. It was believed to reduce the risk of heart disease and bone fractures from osteoporosis. However, the results of a major study, the Women's Health Initiative has led physicians to revise their recommendations. We do not recommend chemical HRT. It was found that risks for breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots greatly increase with the use of chemical HRT.

o Using estrogen/progesterone bioidentical regimens

o Having frequent and regular pelvic exams and pap smears to detect problems as early as possible.

o Having frequent and regular physical exams, including breast exams and mammograms.

ALTERNATIVES TO HRT

The good news is that you can take many steps to reduce your symptoms without taking hormones:

o Dress lightly and in layers

o Avoid caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes and spicy foods

o Practice slow, deep breathing whenever a hot flash starts to come on (try taking six breaths per minute)

o See an acupuncturist

o Use relaxation techniques like yoga, tai chi, or meditation

o Eat soy foods

o Remain sexually active to preserve elasticity of your vagina

o Perform Kegel exercises daily to strengthen the muscles of your vagina and pelvis

o Use water-based lubricants during sexual intercourse

To lessen or eliminate some of the symptoms that accompany menopause and reduce your risk of long-term health problems like osteoporosis and heart disease:

o Do not smoke -- cigarette use can cause early menopause

o Exercise regularly to strengthen your bones. Take calcium and vitamin D

o Eat a low-fat diet

o Control stress

If you show the early signs of osteoporosis, speak with your doctor or homeopath about medications and healthy solutions that can help halt further bone loss, control blood pressure, cholesterol, and other risk factors associated with heart disease.

What HGH Sprays Are And Are They Dangerous?

It is quite amazing how medicine science has advanced in the last couple of decades. What has been impossible ten years ago is absolutely doable now. Have you ever experienced problems and lack of self-confidence because you were shorter than your friends? Sometimes a short height can even leave you without a girlfriend of your dreams, simply because she is taller than you. Even though people have used herbal medicine treatments to help people grow taller, it was not effective for all people. Well, there is no reason for frustration anymore, thanks to the human growth hormone (HGH) supplements.

Human growth hormone is a hormone that is found in each person's body. This specific kind of hormone is responsible for cell reproduction process and various body parts growth. Some people have higher levels of this hormone, because of the genetics of their parents. You often notice how tall parents have tall kids. People who lack this type of hormone usually experience problems with growing. HGH hormone levels are at highest peak during teen years and tend to slow down after the puberty period ends. That is the reason why most people tend to stop growing taller after 20 years. But do not worry any more, there is a way out even if your puberty period has ended long time ago.

HGH supplements artificially increase the levels of those hormones and allow people to grow taller. It would be better to consult with your doctor first, before taking any supplements. You can find commercial HGH sprays, which are considered to be absolutely safe for everybody and can be easily bought without prescription or whatsoever. They can be easily bought online and some readers even reported seeing them in cosmetology stores.

HGH sprays have a wide spectrum of usage. For example, scientists recently have proved that HGH can slow down the aging if consumed on a regular basis. It is also promoted as a cosmetic alternative to filler injections like BOTOX and other types of face lifts. People also claim they feel younger when using HGH supplements. And it's no wonder, because HGH will bring you back to teenage ages and you will feel like a teenager, except you will not experience high testosterone levels.

Even though everything sounds great, there are various severe side effects if you are going to consume too much HGH. Basically, you can get overdosed from this supplement. For example, one of HGH side effects is possible causing of Creutzveldt Jacob Disease. It's an extremely rare brain disease, but in 90% of cases it ends fatally. Some people claimed having terrible muscle spasms that increase to a point they cannot walk. Some consumers even compare HGH to steroids. Furthermore, these supplements haven't been yet fully researched. This just proves that you should not play around this supplement and you must consult with your doctor first. Who knows, maybe you have some rare ailments and increasing artificially levels of your human growth hormone can make you feel even worse.

Menstrual Cycle - How to Slow Down Heavy Bleeding From Menstrual Period

For years, I had the worst menstrual cycle. I would go through probably 6 to 8 pads a day. During my period, I had heavy clotting and it seemed like the bleeding never ended. And of course, as a result of that, I was always so tired during my period.

Well, I could semi-deal with it before I had children but once I had a child, I had to figure out what to do to slow down the bleeding; and if you are a female... which I hope you are if you are reading this... then you understand that when you have a baby, you really can't afford to be any more tired than you already are.

Well, I did some research and I found an answer t o slow down heavy bleeding that I was not too happy with ... as they said to not eat sugar (as unfortunately, I love a good snickers bar)... as sugar will make it worse. As I watched my own patterns, I did notice as I ate sugar, my bleeding would get worse. Since sugar is a downfall of mine, I looked for another solution.

I stumbled across this one just by accident. Exercise. I found the more I exercised, the less I bled. However, I also found, with taking care of my baby, I had little energy to exercise... so that was not the best solution for me.

So off to solution number 3... and this is the one I use most of the time (although I have learned to cut out sugar a lot and definitely do when I need to be out in public... or go to work... on the first 3 days when my period is the worst). The solution to stop heavy menstrual bleeding is through raw apple cider vinegar.

I put approximately one tablespoon in a large glass of water and sip it throughout the day. If the bleeding is extra heavy, I will drink 2 glasses of water with 1 tablespoon of raw (must be "raw". Braggs raw apple cider vinegar is awesome) apple cider vinegar a day.

I know some people can't take the taste of the vinegar, so you could put it in a glass of apple juice (preferably sugar-free) or grape juice and drink it that way... to hide the strong taste.

I have gone down from probably 6 to 10 pads a day to now about 1 to 3 pads a day using vinegar.
Anyway, give this a try. I think you will be happy with the results... and if you take apple cider vinegar even when you don't have your menstrual cycle, you will most likely experience a boost of energy as well.

Different and Specific Effects of Hormone Imbalances

There are several hormones being produced in the human body regularly to sustain normal organ function and support the different important processes and systems. However, a number of factors from the inside and outside can disrupt the actions thereby resulting to adverse symptoms. Affects of hormone imbalances can vary among individuals depending on type.

What Should Normally Occur

The human body regularly have fluctuating hormonal levels depending on the current and perceived needs of the individual. The body is a very intelligent system that constantly prepares against infection and contaminants, starvation and other kinds of threats. It will produce unique actions with the main goal of surviving and staying healthy.

If hormones in the body are normal, you should expect constant protection against disease and proper physical and mental function.

People will have:

  • normal sex drive and a well-functioning reproductive system,

  • menstrual cycles will be predictable,

  • regular and comfortable,

  • mental acuity remains sharp with good focus,

  • memory and concentration,

  • skin elasticity is good,

  • metabolism is enhanced resulting to a fit and able body,

  • sleep remains comfortable and refreshing,

  • emotions are stable,

  • risks against different cancers such as the breas

Specific Actions and Effects

Affects of hormone imbalances will depend on the level of any given hormone. If one type of hormone is in excess or lacking, it will result to a specific type of symptom or combination of symptoms. Laboratory testing is needed in order for doctors to accurately determine which hormones and cell functions are disrupted to provide effective treatment.

Hormones will only bind to special receptor sites found in the cells of specific organs that they are supposed to direct. It is impossible for other hormones to bind with different receptor sites so lack of one hormone type cannot be compensated by another type. Each hormone is comprised of a unique structure that determines that required stimulated actions in different body parts. Thus, hormone replacement therapy approaches should included hormones with exactly similar structures as the type which is inadequate. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy has been developed to help people balance specific types of hormones that they need.

Aside from Estrogen and Progesterone

Although estrogen and progesterone are the most common hormones that have fluctuating levels, other types will similarly cause symptoms and disturbances if abnormally present. Thyroid hormone imbalance can cause fatigue and cold tolerance. Adrenal hormone imbalance can be triggered by stress and nutritional deficiencies leading to interruptions in prostaglandin synthesis and immune responses. Abnormal levels of testosterone can lead to infertility, low sex drive and physical changes like abnormal facial or body hair growth.

There are several reasons why different hormones in the body exist in abnormal levels. Stress is one which triggers the extra production of stress hormones. Intake of alcohol, medications and drugs can also cause changes in gland function resulting to higher than usual amounts of hormones like adrenaline, T3, T4 and insulin. Although some of these do not directly cause symptoms, they trigger actions via the person leading to physical and mental changes such as inability to sleep soundly, cravings for sugar and starchy foods and lack of enthusiasm to do physical exercise. Effects later on will depend on the activities such as weight gain, high blood pressure, fatigue and restlessness.

Menopause - Green Tea is Your Lifesaver During Menopause Treatment

Do you have to take synthetic or bio-identical estrogen to mask menopause symptoms? Then you should know that the side effects, such as breast swelling and uterine bleeding, bother many menopause women daily who take estrogen.

Estrogen was listed as one of the most potent chemical carcinogens in a biology textbook (Levine & Miller, 1994). Estrogen is a reproductive hormone, so most of its functioning sites are in the breasts and the uterus. No wonder all hormone treatments for menopause cause breast swelling and uterine bleeding. No wonder your doctor has to screen for cancers with mammograms and Pap smears routinely during your menopause treatment.

Good news for menopause women who are taking hormones: "Green tea is the single best cancer fighter." said a director at a cancer prevention center in New York. Green tea has 20 times more free-radical fighting power than vitamin E and 200 times more than vitamin C. Nature packs green tea with EGCG, a great antioxidant which shows impressive activity against many kinds of cancer. Studies found that EGCG inhibits a key enzyme for cancer development.

EGCG is one class of a larger group of protective phyto-chemicals. Phyto-chemicals are natural chemicals widely distributed in plants. That is why eating more fruits and vegetables, in whatever form, is a great way to prevent cancers.

Extracts of green tea have been shown to prevent cancer in animals, and recently similar claims have been made about black tea. All true tea comes from the same plant species (Camellia sinensis), such as black tea, pu-erh tea, and oolong- tea, so they should contain the same amount of EGCG. However, herbal teas, such as peppermint, are not true tea, because they are made from different plants, so they do not contain as much EGCG as real tea.

You need to drink four cups of green tea daily to get the optimal dose of EGCG. Pour boiling water over tea leaves and let it steep for 5 minutes. To get the most antioxidant benefit, don't add milk or sugar, and drink the tea immediately.

While the average American drinks 10 servings of green tea per year, the average Chinese drinks 150 servings per year. Although coffee increases heart rate, insomnia, nervousness, headache, irritability, diarrhea and frequent urination, so far, no negative effects have been reported on tea.

As Rome was not built in a day, cancer is not developed in a day. By the time you are diagnosed, the cancer has been in your body for 10 years. While you are taking estrogen to mask your menopause symptoms for years, estrogen stimulates your breasts and uterus everyday. Mammograms and Pap smears are only passive ways to prevent cancers.

Drinking tea is your daily anticancer weapon. It prevents cancer seeds from germinating and growing in your body. When the cancer is diagnosed, it has grown into a big cancer tree. The goal of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is to destroy the cancer tree, and obviously it is the last straw to save your life. Cancer risks increase as we age. Menopause women are especially susceptible to cancers while taking estrogen. Green tea is a great antidote to the cancer-causing effect by synthetic or bio-identical estrogen.

What Are the Benefits of BHRT?

For most women, hormone imbalances in the body can be a distressing time. Fortunately, research and innovations in medical technology have resulted in methods of harmonizing the hormone imbalance. One such method is Bioidentical Hormone Restoration Therapy (BHRT.) Natural or Bioidentical Hormone Restoration Therapy, (BHRT), is the restoration of hormone imbalance in the body to alleviate the symptoms of a hormone imbalance. This hormone treatment has had proven therapeutic results for millions of women.

The following is a list of the benefits of BHRT:

1. BHRT is a safe treatment for women. There are minimal side effects which often require hormone treatment adjustment of the dosage. The hormones in BHRT are natural so that the body metabolizes bioidentical hormones way it is supposed to, naturally. Traditional synthetic hormone treatment has more side effects. One should notice improvement within 3 to 4 days

2. BHRT does not increase the risk of such conditions as blood clots, heart attacks, and breast cancer. Traditional Synthetic Hormone Replacement Therapy has been shown to actually increase these risks.

3. The method of taking BHRT treatment is non invasive such as tablets, creams, capsules, or troches, lozenges, sub dermal implants, and Pellet Therapy. In Pellet Therapy, the small pellet is placed under the skin and provides steady reprieve of symptoms for about 4-6 months. Pellet Therapy will require replacement of the pellet 2-3 times a year.

4. BHRT treatment plans are individualized to meet the needs of each individual patient. Compounding pharmacies create a customized formula for each individual

5. Reduces insomnia

6. Better concentration and alertness: improve memory lapses and foggy thinking

7. Reduces anxiety and depression. As well, it increases energy.

8. Improves sex drive. BHRT increases the libido.

9. Decreases bloating, headaches, and irritability.

10. Increases weight loss: accelerates fat burning

11. Regulates menstruation: reduces menstrual bleeding and painful periods.

12. Preventing heart disease. BHRT improves blood circulation.

13. Preventing osteoporosis. BHRT promotes bone growth.

14. Preventing some hard-to-detect female cancers. It also protects against fibrocystic breasts

15. Reduces symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, irritability, vaginal dryness, excess hair growth, skin problems, sleep problems, and mood swings. BHRT improves the skin's elasticity.

For years, women had to take a synthetic hormone treatment for correcting a hormone imbalance. Fortunately, BHRT is a healthy and safe treatment more women are now receiving. As well, Bio-identical hormones are approved by the FDA. BHRT uses hormones that are the same as the molecular structure of the hormones produced in the body. They are made from a plant where a substance called diosgenin is removed and then modified to bio-identical hormones like the hormones in the body. The most common reason that women choose to engage in BHRT is for the relief of symptoms related to menopause, perimenopause, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS.) BHRT can be prescribed by a physician after the proper assessment and laboratory tests.

When considering Bioidentical Hormone Restoration Therapy, it is important to consult with your physical learn about this natural, effective and safe hormone replacement treatment.

Pregnant and Driving For the First Time? Tips For Driving While Pregnant and Maximizing Your Safety

The precious time of pregnancy in a woman's life brings along tremendous excitement but some first time concerns. Suddenly, navigating daily life and common tasks that were once taken for granted can become a challenge. Especially while pregnant there are additional safety considerations that are crucial for the well-being of you and your unborn baby while on the road.

There's no reason not to drive as usual, but sensibility and simply taking it easy are essential. Here are a few considerations and precautions from Women-drivers.com to assist those driving during their first pregnancy:

  • Wear your seatbelt lap belt across your hip bones or upper thighs; not across your belly. Adapt your sitting position so the belt crosses your shoulder without cutting into your neck and position the shoulder harness between your breasts.

  • Ensure the car you drive has airbags, and it's recommended that expectant mothers keep at least 12 inches of clearance between the front airbag and their belly. Pillows or cushions should be not used to shorten this clearing distance.

  • Adjust the steering wheel, or consider installing an adjustable one to extend the steering wheel out or push it further in as needed.

  • For higher vehicles that are difficult to get in and out of, keep a wide step stool handy.

  • When possible, drive at quieter times of day with less traffic on the roads. Because of the need for more bathroom breaks and the possible sudden onset of nausea, if you have the luxury of choice try to avoid higher congested times such as rush hour.

  • Plan your route ahead of time. Avoid getting caught in construction zones with significant delays, or storm fronts sweeping in. Keep updated with local weather and traffic construction sites or satellite stations before venturing off on unfamiliar or longer routes.

  • Avoid dehydration and low blood sugar while on the road. Take water or juice and keep high protein snacks or fruit in the car.

  • Invest in a GPS navigation system. You'll be glad you did!

  • It's a smart idea, pregnant or not, to keep a 'Survival Kit' and blankets in the car. Flares, a flashlight and a HELP sign are recommended.

  • Always take your cell phone and battery charger, especially when driving alone.

  • Take frequent breaks to stretch your legs and back during longer trips.

  • Avoid driving through places where medical care is not available, or where altitude could cause a problem.

  • Play relaxing music to keep your nerves soothed and anxiety levels lower. There are even CD's made for expectant mothers with music by Mozart and Beethoven.

  • Consult your physician if you do plan to travel during your third trimester, especially if you have a high risk pregnancy.

Driving should never be taken for granted, and while pregnant some simple precautions are recommended to be safe behind the wheel!

Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones

On the face of it, the top selling book "The Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones" has gotten many favorable reviews. A note of caution however; any book title with the word "miracle" in the title should bear further investigation. The old adages "if it's too good to be true, it probably is", "let the buyer beware", and "those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it" are all good axioms to live by. It's best to insure that there is water in the pool, especially before jumping into the deep end.

Any proper analysis of "The Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones" should start with a history lesson. Back in the early 1960's a Dr. Robert Wilson wrote a book which (at the time) received similar fanfare and was titled "Feminine Forever". In it, Dr. Wilson extolled the virtues of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and the information contained within was promoted as a potential curative for everything from hot flashes to cancer.

While that fact that Dr. Wilson's Son later confirmed that his Father's book and speeches were entirely funded by "Wythe", the pharmaceutical company that produced the drug, history would eventually note that more than 6,000,000 women would be prescribed for HRT for a variety of menopause related symptoms and other perceived ailments.

Decades later, a grass-roots movement forced The U.S. Congress to investigate the safety and efficacy of HRT. The test involving more than 600,000 women over a 5-year period was halted earlier than planned. Results confirmed the suspicions (of some) that not only was HRT not the miracle elixir that it was purported to be, but that the treatment plan actually led to a much higher incidence of heart disease and various types of cancer. Following the study, Cynthia Pearson (head of the National Women's Health Network - the group that spearheaded the test) categorized HRT as "a triumph of marketing over science."

Even with these incontrovertible facts, HRT is still used today, though usually recommended only for short durations. Seeing that some women will experience menopause symptoms for 10 years or more, HRT hardly seems worth the risk.

This brings us to today's miracle cure; "The Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones". These are the facts that we know:

• The author of "The Miracle of Bioidentical hormones" (Michael Platt) lost his license to practice medicine in the U.S., August 6th, 2010, this, following years of investigation regarding his claims.

• No comprehensive test studies have ever been conducted as to the safety and efficacy of bioidentical treatment plans.

• Arguments persist that "the Miracle of Bioidentical Hormones" is a work of fiction and has no bearing on actual medical science.

After 50 years, American women have every right to be skeptical of menopause symptom relief claims as offered by the medical community and prescription drug companies, even those cleared by the FDA.

It must be remembered that prescription drug companies are only interested in drugs that can be patented so as to protect their investment. This means laboratory initiated formulas and not plant-based or herbal treatments which cannot be patented.

Few independent research groups have the funding necessary to conduct research regarding all natural menopause symptom relief treatments, without the sponsorship of a large pharmaceutical company.

The Mayo Clinic is one of the few that does.

In 2007 the Mayo Clinic conducted a study on flaxseed that showed exception promise in reducing the common symptoms associated with Menopause.

Additional in vivo tests have concluded that flax hull lignans (the chemically active portion of flaxseed) can be as effective (about 70%) as HRT in reducing menopause symptoms (especially hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings), while remaining safe and effective (without increasing the dose), even over prolonged use.

How Do I Convince a Regular Doctor to Prescribe Natural Hormones?

Google Dr. Erika's Blog. That's probably the best advice a woman could be given at absolutely any point in her life. I started having menopause symptoms when I was in my early 30s. Of course I didn't recognize them, and my mind absolutely did not venture toward any condition usually reserved for older women. It took about 10 years for me to realize what was happening to my body and to determine what I wanted to do about it.

As I grew older, and began to travel in circles of mature women (my peers were getting older), bioidentical hormones were forefront in our conversations regarding aging. We were California Baby Boomers, and we never ever did things the way our parents did, but rather chose the natural alternative to anything and everything. But my GAWD it was, and still is, hard to find a doctor to prescribe bioidentical hormones. Not only did you have to find one in your area that was willing to go along with you, you had to find a compounding pharmacy that would be willing to educate your doctor as to how to prescribe this newfangled old medicinal concoction.

What many of us didn't know was that, since 1986 there have been natural hormones on the market in a variety of forms. Gels, patches and pills are being manufactured by Bayer, Parke Davis, Novartis, Bristol Myers, Squibb and Pharmacia Upjohn. Our doctors can easily become familiar with them and would probably readily embrace these because they are mainstream.

These are just some bioidenticals that are available today:

  • Alora: Watson Labs

  • Climara: Bayer

  • FemPatch: Parke Davis

  • Vivelle-Dot: Novartis

  • Estraderm: Novartis

  • Esclim: Women's First Healthcare

  • Estrace: Bristol Myers Squibb

  • Estring: Pharmacia UpJohn

  • Premetrium: Solvay

  • Androgel: Unimed Pharmaceuticals

  • Crinone: Columbia Labs

I've HEARD that taking unopposed estrogen is not recommended for women who have their uterus and ovaries. I've HEARD that if you're one of these women, you should always take estrogen in conjunction with progesterone. Be sure to review this point with your doctor. In fact, when you go to your doctor take this article with you and show him/ her the names of the bioidenticals and the drug companies that make them! I bet he/she will write you a prescription on the spot!

How to Find the Perfect Gynecologist

A gynecologist is absolutely essential to any woman's health. Answer the following questions to create a check-list of your individual needs. This will help you choose the most appropriate gynecologist for you:

1-What are your needs?

Identifying your needs is a key factor when it comes to choosing your gynecologist.

  • Do you need Bio Identical Hormone Replacement (BHRT)? If so, you may need a doctor who specializes in menopause.

  • Are you planning to get pregnant? If so, you may want someone who practices obstetrics. If this is not something you're planning now, this may not be relevant.

  • If you are pregnant: do you need an OB trained in high-risk pregnancies? If you have a serious medical condition (from diabetes to high blood pressure) you may need specialized care.

2-Is the doctor's gender important?

For some people, this factor is of no importance, but anyway, some patients are concerned about the sex of their gynecologist.

3-Does he have any sub-specialty training?
It is really important that the Ob-gyn have some special training or experience in managing complicated medical, obstetric, or gynecologic condition.

4. Who covers for the doctor when he is unavailable?
Before choosing your gynecologist you should know if other physicians or non-physicians (such as a nurse or assistant) will participate in your care.

When Should a Woman See a Gynecologist?

  • Once a year, after turning 18 or after becoming sexually active.

  • When considering becoming pregnant.

  • When there are any unusual signs or symptoms in breasts, vagina, lower abdomen, urinary system, period problems, hormonal concerns or needs for contraception

Lack of Concentration - How Hormonal Imbalance at Menopause Causes Confusion

Menopause can adversely affect your ability to concentrate. It may become even more difficult to focus than before, you may also feel disorientated and experience a general state of mental confusion that is all-too-common at this mid-life transition.

These symptoms can be further exacerbated for women who have undergone a hysterectomy. Women find themselves often worrying whether or not they have forgotten to turn the iron off, or maybe they frequently forget to turn off the television before departing for work.

Menopause closely correlates with some decline in mental functions such as memory loss and the ability to clearly concentrate. Your ability to recall certain events and the ability to focus is often affected due to crucial hormonal imbalances in your system.

Estrogen regulates many female processes and plays a role in working with the neurotransmitters in the brain, sending signals to and from; in effect estrogen is responsible for maintaining healthy memory. Lost levels of this vital female hormone will quite simply affect your brain's ability to function.

Couple this with the fact that menopausal woman are already undergoing stressful situations with numerous midlife transitions such as aging parents and children leaving home, and often women find themselves in very challenging situations.

Excessive stress can cause forgetfulness and you might feel distracted by the new range of responsibilities you have to face as you move into this next phase of life. Depression and fear over facing issues such as long-term illness, death and living alone can also result in difficulty in focusing, feelings of disorientation and mental confusion.

Remember, your concentration may be affected, but it is not as a result of getting older. It is the result of the hormonal imbalance and that can be helped significantly with natural, bioidentical hormones.

Refrain from smoking and drinking alcohol -- both of these can significantly increase menopause symptoms. Consume hormones that speed up bodily processes, like the over-the-counter drug DHEA. DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone and is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands as well as by the brain and the skin, and is the most abundant steroid in the human body.

It has been reported that by the time we reach the age of 80 our DHEA level is only 15% of what it was when we were 25. Researchers say DHEA may prove to protect against cancer and heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol and preventing blood clots.

Recent studies also demonstrate that DHEA improves memory, strengthens the immune system, prevents bone loss and may even protect us from diabetes and autoimmune disease. It has been shown to fight fatigue and depression as well as enhance feelings of well being and increase strength. If all this sounds too good to e true, DHEA has also been reported to alleviate symptoms of menopause, reduce body fat and even enhance libido.

Use Appointment Cards To Help Your Business Run Smoothly

There are countless tools available to businesses today that can help them operate more smoothly. Some are expensive, others are not, but the key is to find something that really works for your company. Appointment cards are very popular for certain business owners. Salons, dental offices, doctor offices, pretty much any place that operates by appointment only.

There are so many benefits to making beautiful appointment cards for your business. First of all, having them at your disposal to be able to offer them to customers makes your company look professional and organized. Customers usually love the offer because then they do not have to spend five minutes looking for their own pen and paper to write down their appointment time. They are great for both business owner and client and cut down on follow up calls with people wondering when they are supposed to come in next.

Here are a few tips for you when designing your cards. First, and perhaps most importantly, you want to choose a non-glossy card stock to print your cards on. You want to be able to write on the card, as this is the entire point of having them. Glossy cards just won't hold ink the same way a softer card stock will.

You also want to make sure that your appointment cards have your office or salon phone number on there somewhere. This way, if your client needs to contact you for some reason, they have a quick reference to do so. Also, you can include the days of the week at the top of the card so you can quickly circle which day their appointment is on. Then leave a space where you can write the time and any other notes that may be pertinent to their visit.

Designing creative cards for your place of business is a great way to stay on track with your clients in between appointments. They create a professional image for your business and clients really do appreciate them. Another benefit is that in many ways, they also act as business cards. You can use your business cards as a guide to creating your appointment cards. It is nice to have the same logo and information present on both cards in order to help build brand recognition. Also keep in mind all of the benefits that will come from using them. Giving someone an appointment card means the will take it home and display it somewhere so they can reference it in-between appointments. This means that the card will be out in the open for everyone else to see as well. You can attract more business for yourself in this way. This is why it is a good idea to have your name and contact information displayed prominently on each card.

Diet For Your Body Type

THE FOUR BODY TYPES

Each of these shapes is labeled for the weakened gland causing it: Adrenal, ovary, thyroid and liver. Each also has particular cravings, pains, sensations, or occurrences associated with each.

Adrenal Body Type Stages

1.) Adrenal. The adrenal type has fat that sags from the abdomen. This type craves salt or chocolate, has anxiety, feels the need for coffee or stimulants, suffers from chronic inflammation and tends to wake up in the middle of the night. This person needs foods high in potassium, calcium and vitamin C, like leafy greens, mushrooms, oranges, grapefruit and apples. He should also consume adequate amounts of protein (50-75 grams) to replace loss of body protein (muscles). Light and slow exercise is ideal for this body type. An adrenal body type is already in a state of "burnout," and adding more stress through intense exercise will stress the adrenal glands even more.

Ovary Body Type Stages

2.) Ovary. Obviously, this type is exclusively found in women. Someone with an ovary type carries excess fat accumulated around hips and thighs ("saddlebags"),with a lower stomach bulge just beneath the navel. This type craves ice cream, cream cheese, sour cream or milk, often has pain in the lower back/hip area, suffers from hot flashes and lowered sex drive, and has problems surrounding menstruation. Ovary types need to consume lots of cruciferous vegetables, since they are antiestrogenic. They should also consume adequate amounts of protein (50-75 grams) to help trigger fat-burning hormones. Meats and fats consumed should be hormone-free, since environmental hormones can affect ovaries. Ideally, this type should combine light and intense exercise for maximum benefit.

3.) Thyroid. Those in this category will show weight gain all over the body rather than just in one particular place. This person craves sweets, breads and pasta, can suffer from depression, often has brittle nails, dry hair and hair loss, becomes tired in the early evening and has dry skin especially on the hands and elbows.

Thyroid Body Type Stages

The thyroid body type needs iodine and should consume lots of non-cruciferous vegetables. In addition, the metabolic rate is slow and cannot tolerate excessive protein. Going light on fats is advised. High-intensity, short-duration exercise is recommended for this bodytype.

4.) Liver. Someone with a malfunctioning liver has fluid that leaks into the sac around the abdomen, giving a "potbelly" appearance. This type craves deep-friend foods or potato chips, has pain or tightness in the right shoulder area, often suffers from flaky skin or dandruff in eyebrows and scalp, has hot or swollen feet, shows a yellow tint in the whites of the yes, is irritable in the morning, and often has a tight feeling over the right lower stomach area or ribcage. Liver types need foods high in potassium such as cruciferous vegetables, and should also consume easily digestible protein sources (i.e., fish and eggs). High-intensity, short-duration exercise is recommended. Berg's plan teaches readers how to attack the true cause of their weight problems: Unbalanced hormones. As he so aptly explains, you can achieve weight loss and better health after you help your glandular system operate in a balanced way.

The Challenges Faced During Menopause

Menopause is a very individualized experience. It is a normal stage of life that all middle-aged women must experience at some point. It is not a disease that needs to be cured, but a natural life-stage transition. It is a stage which comes in every woman's life. Menopause is simply a stage in a woman's life where the body stops menstruation.

Symptoms that accompany menopause vary in severity. They may come and go, and more may develop, as the process of menopause progresses. They are most related to the drop in the hormone estrogen at menopause. Flashes can come on at any time, day or night and they vary greatly in frequency and severity.

Symptoms can also include: irritability, mood swings, fatigue, memory lapses, trouble sleeping and more. They may also include memory and concentration issues, mood swings, weight gain, painful intercourse, depression and anxiety.

Women are known to be in their pre-menopause period when they are in their mid-thirties. They are beginning to realize that menopause is more than a physical change. They can take medication to help treat or prevent some of the bone problems that can occur during menopause. Many may be prone towards depression during menopause. They will differ in their experience of peri-mnopause, menopause, and post-menopause. They may experience a decline in physical function during menopause. Women are more susceptible to developing coronary heart disease upon the onset of menopause. Women are post-menopause when they have not had a period for 12 months.

Women are told that HRT (hormone replacement therapy) can prevent heart disease but excess estrogen is cardiotoxic. Many physicians do not like to prescribe HRT anymore due to the potential medical problems they can cause (such as Cancer, stroke, etc).

Women that exercise, may prevent heart disease and are less likely to have hot-flashes, bone loss, stress, and depression. They can reduce their risk of heart disease by not smoking, eating a healthy diet, and getting exercise. They are at increased risk for osteoporosis, and risk increases after menopause. Women are more likely to develop osteoporosis than men.

Another option is using natural bio identical hormones-and many find this a great alternative. As a matter of fact, many claim that using them keeps them feeling and looking younger. The only down side to this, is that the women continue to have a monthly period (although they are no longer fertile, and will not get pregnant).

You will more than likely have to find a doctor that specializes in this, as it is still relatively new, and not all Endocrinologists know about it. You will need to be prepared to have blood tests done on a regular basis, as this will determine the strength and dosage of the medication that will be prescribed. These medications are made especially for you alone, and will need to be filled at a 'compounding' pharmacy. Your dosage may change as the hormones in your blood levels change (thus-the need for continued monitoring of your blood levels).

Medication is dispensed in several ways. It may be a lozenge (that melts on your tongue), a cream that you administer to a specific area of your body, or suppositories (that may be inserted vaginally). Be advised that if you smoke, or have health risk factors, you may not be a candidate for this therapy.

The only way to find out is to talk with a specialist in this area, and try it out. Many women claim that they feel like they did when they were in their 30's, and they have got back that 'spark' into their life that had been missing. Sex is once again enjoyable, and their energy levels have returned.

How HGH Helps Prevent and Reverse Lung Disease

According to statistics from the Mayo Clinic, heart disease is the leading cause of death for Americans with lung disease coming in third. In a recent clinical study conducted by David Clemmons, Chief of Endocrinology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, researchers found that after treating patients who had lung diseases with human growth hormone over a three-week period, the patients demonstrated noticeable improvement in overall health and lung function.

Other research studies have shown that HGH treatment helps in preserving the mucus layer of the lungs, which helps prevent lung infections. Additional clinical studies have shown that HGH also helps with cardiac function and promotes an increase in the capacity of both the heart and the lungs.

Human growth hormone treatment has also been shown to improve one of the most important measurements of lung function - forced expiratory volume (FEV1), also known as vital capacity. FEV1 measures a person's ability to force the air from their lungs in a one second period. Vital capacity is the total volume of air expelled from a person's lungs by breathing in as hard as possible and then expelling the air as hard and as quickly as possible.

Vital capacity declines as people age and is considered a significant predictor of expected life span. Clinical studies have also determined that human growth hormone treatment helps to reverse patient lung function deterioration while also improving the lung's vital capacity.

HGH treatment is readily available through a physician and can be beneficial in improving lung function and increasing the vital capacity of the lungs. However, such injections can require nearly 50 shots per month and cost over $2,000 each month. For most, this option is inconvenient, painful, and far too costly.

Many individuals have sought out homeopathic alternatives to prescription HGH, offering a safe, effective, and affordable alternative. A select few of these homeopathic formulas contain a proprietary blend of natural ingredients that assist in strengthening and empowering the body's pituitary gland, the primary gland responsible for natural HGH production.

The connection could be made that by strengthening the pituitary gland to function at stronger and more youthful levels, the gland would naturally produce greater levels of human growth hormone in the body. Additionally, some of these formulas contain ingredients that have been clinically proven to provide an amazing spectrum of benefits that mirror those often seen with traditional HGH treatment programs. This safe and effective natural alternative offers an affordable and convenient solution for those seeking these benefits.

Your Urine - Therapy For Your Skin

I remember vividly I was browsing the internet two years ago and came across this topic "urine therapy".

Gross! How can someone do that? Urine on your face, that's absurd right?

Well I was in for a ride, because there are numerous benefits to using urine (whether internally or externally). I shared the idea with a close friend to hear her opinion on it. It turned out her grandmother - an old country woman (who looked decades younger than her ripe old age at that time) had been applying facial urine therapy for decades and had told her daughters and granddaughters to do the same. That anecdote won me over... After all I had nothing to lose. Still hesitant, I decided to do some more research online and discovered that a number of leading models (of both genders) use urine therapy to combat everything ranging from acne to aging. So, I took a leap of faith and started urine therapy. Over two years, totally comfortable with the application daily I am convinced that this works. Although there are people who drink their urine (over 3 million Chinese) and high percentages in some European countries that are into natural health, it takes a level of acceptance and openness to drink one's urine- which I am not at that stage-yet (and may never get there - I admit).

After a year of using urine therapy my skin is impeccable, it glows and feels as soft and new. The first time I applied it to my face there was a tingling feeling on my skin, obviously reacting to the foreign substance applied. After weeks of application my skin had no reaction when the urine was applied. To my surprise and you maybe shocked, there is no fowl smell on the skin after the urine is applied and it disappears and is visually undetectable. That observation made me continue as the odor could have deterred my interest in seeing the end result.

My routine...

So what do I do? I wake up in the mornings and while peeing I use a roll of tissue to catch the urine just enough to wet it. By the way, they recommend using your first pee in the morning because it is more concentrated and therefore more effective. Afterward I face the mirror and wipe the wet tissue on my face (forehead, chin, around the eyes, jaws, avoiding the lips and eyes). I allow the skin to process the urine therapy for 15 -30 minutes, then wash my face. When I started I would only give it about ten minutes but after seeing the results I began extending the period, even doing it twice daily. One of my friends (the same one with the super young grandmother) leaves hers on for hours at a time, unless she has to go to work or be around other people. It all depends on the user. Logically, the longer you leave it on, the more the acid contained in the urea can remove dead layers of skin. The model testimonials I saw (you can YouTube the topic) mentioned a half hour, so I decided to stick to that.

Anyway, as I was saying, in a week I saw radical changes to the appearance of my skin which made me very happy. An unbeliever was now persuaded. I did not have severe acne but I had skin issues. Today, I am content, truly happy I started urine therapy. Every once in a while, depending on work stress and diet, I'll have a little skin crisis for a day, but over all I can safely say the improvement is noticeable and consistent. Many of my friends have skin issues -acne, blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads etc and they have tried everything on the market but nothing works-even bleaching. I would like to tell them all to try urine therapy. Don't be embarrassed! I had the same gut reaction too because we are all products of our upbringing and, unless you're from some distant indigenous tribe on some uncharted island, or you're from my friend's family (the one with the youthful grandma), you probably weren't raised to even think of putting urine on your face. That's for the toilet, right? Maybe not entirely... You might think its nasty but you could be flushing the secret to your own fountain of youth. Let's not forget, if you're someone who cares about being youthful and having healthy skin, think about how much money you're spending on products with harsh chemicals and questionable results when a little dab of your own excess fluids and urea could do the same job or better for free!

I get compliments all the time about my skin and people always presume I'm much younger. I am 23 years old, not 18 or 20. I've even been mistaken for a very tall, mature 16 year old. Gosh... that was one of the nicest days of my life. I beamed for the whole week after hearing that one!

Anyway, don't just take my word for it, or the word of some of these top models. Don't take the word of my friend's jetsetting granny either. Take a look at what gold old Wikipedia has to say about it

According to Wikipedia, in alternative medicine, "the term urine therapy (also urotherapy, urinotherapy or uropathy) refers to various applications of human urine for medicinal or cosmetic purposes, including drinking of one's urine and massaging one's skin with one's own urine."

Your urine is not as nasty as you think. It consists of 95% water, 2.5% of urea, and 2.5% is a mixture of minerals, salts, hormones and enzymes. The research for this blog proved to be true. Millions of people are experiencing the great benefits of urine therapy offers and it can be the same for you. Urine therapy is used to cure or relieve a variety of ailments, such as, arthritis, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, eczema, psoriasis, diabetes, herpes and adrenal failure. This form of therapy is also used to assist with snakebites, jellyfish and bee stings. It is important to note that urine is the main ingredient in infertility drugs. (I did NOT know that, folks!)

Urine therapy can be used as eye drops for conjunctivitis and glaucoma and in the ear for ear infections.

I shared with a friend that I would be posting this testimonial about urine therapy. Yeah! I did. When I started two years ago it was 'CIA' top secret information. Now, I see the effects and the benefits I am pleased I started it. This blog post was not written to force you to begin your own urine therapy. This is not for the faint of heart, but for those who have nothing to lose and will try something new to see results. I haven't used urine therapy constantly; there were times when I stopped and immediately all the zits and blackheads returned like an army. Today, it is part of my daily regime because I have seen a clear difference between what my skin is like with it and without it. I mentioned my secret to another friend who looks a lot younger than his age and he said that he'd been using it for years and, after seeing results, stopped buying the barrage of skincare products he used to use for his adult onset acne and seborrheic eczema.

Why not share the secret? More people need to know about this.
