Less Estrogen During Menopause? Not Necessarily a Problem

While much is known about how women can raise the odds on aging with health and good looks in tack, there is no virtue in blaming everything that perchance happens to your body and health over the age of 40 on menopause.

Despite the fact that many are discouraged with what they see in the mirror and on their health charts, the real questions one should be asking are weight gain, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, thyroid imbalance, bone loss, stress fatigue and lack luster skin caused by less estrogen circulating throughout a woman's body or dismal food choices, a sweet tooth, little exercise and a gloomy perspective on life events, the good and the hard-hitting?

Menopause is the natural cessation of menstruation occurring usually between the ages of 45 and 55 or the cessation of menstruation from other than natural causes such as from surgical removal of the ovaries.

Menopause symptoms vary from women to women; nevertheless it seems everyone is an expert on menopause, your aunt, the news anchor and hair dresser. In a busy world it is tempting to believe someone else has the answers. Sometimes they do but even then their answers may not be yours. When it comes to menopause and all the woes that are claimed to be fixed by a dose of hormones, regardless of whether the hormones are "bioidentical" or not, they are not safe and they are not good for you.

I encourage you to visit The Research Foundation, foremost recognized for their research on the root causes of breast cancer and read what Dr. Susan Love has to say about taking any form of artificial hormones including bioidentical hormones.

The truth of the matter is "Menopause is programmed into a woman's body and it is a natural part of life. High levels of hormones are needed to reproduce, and then, at menopause, hormones shift down to a safer level." If you need medical testing and guidance speak openly with your doctor. If you prefer a natural course of action to ease symptoms of menopause stick with a company that produces a medical grade clinically tested treatment option and be certain the manufacturer of your product choice is accessible to you and to your doctor.

Health, glow and peace come from knowing yourself and making decisions that are yours and serve you.

Stay Informed. Stay Healthy.
